The Centre for Policy Research, New Delhi is organising a conference on “Land Rights, Environmental Protection and Inclusive Development in India”. The conference will feature three panels on “Andhra Pradesh and the Fifth Schedule to the Constitution”, “Gujarat and the Fifth Schedule to the Constitution”, and “Meghalaya and the Sixth Schedule” to the Constitution. The issues scheduled for discussion revolve around property and land
rights, environmental regulations, federal-state relations and the situation of
scheduled tribes and other vulnerable groups, keeping in mind the differences between Fifth and Sixth Schedule States.
