Santana Khanikar teaches at the School of International Studies, JNU. She is interested in questions of violence related to the state. Her 2018 monograph is titled State, Violence, and Legitimacy in India. Apart from spending a lot of time with her two year old daughter, and doing regular university tasks, recently she has started thinking about her next project roughly around the idea of mothering in conflict areas.
