Kapila Hingorani Foundation Pegasus Scholarship

A joint venture between The Kapila Hingorani Foundation and the prestigious Pegasus Scholarship Trust, the Kapila Hingorani Foundation Pegasus Scholarship aims to provide young lawyers in India a first-hand experience of the workings of the legal system in England and Wales over a period of eight weeks. The scholarship will entail spending three to four weeks at each of two different sets of barristers’ chambers in London that practice in the scholars’ preferred areas of law. These placements would usually involve opportunities to see advocacy in action, and the scholar will typically be asked to assist with research and/or drafting. The scholar would also visit various institutions such as the Supreme Court, the High Court and the Old Bailey, where the scholar would be looked after by a Judge of that Court for the day.

The scholar will be provided with a stipend to cover the living costs and will be also given assistance in securing accommodation in London. The scholarship does not cover any other expenses, such as return flight tickets, visa, insurance and travel related costs.

We are now inviting applications for the Kapila Hingorani Foundation Pegasus Scholarship 2015. The deadline for online submission of the application is 30 April 2015. The applicant should

·           be a citizen of India
